First of all, lemme introduce myself briefly, just in the off-chance you have found this blog randomly.

I'm Harry - a certified geek, 7 days a week.

I stream¹ on YouTube and Twitch, and also make videos from time to time. Most of my interests are very nerdy and/or very gay, with the big three being Doctor Who, Xenoblade and Britney Spears. I love all kinds of media, but those three are just mwah².

why are you doing this to us?

I've been meaning to start a blog of some kind just to get my thoughts out about various things, whether that's the random shit that often formulates in my mind for some god-forsaken reason, updates about making videos or upcoming livestreams, or something else entirely.

I wanted to start this just as a bit of a new(ish) creative outlet, as I did previously have a blog (so long ago it may as well have been a past life, especially with how different I am now as a person), and I think it is a medium I would like to explore once in a while - I like writing, but I just don't do enough of it as things stand.

Sometimes I just wanna yap. I like yapping. Some say too much³ (I'm included in that "some"). Also I'm turning 25 in a couple days, so maybe that has sumn to do with it 🤷

I'm sure down the line more options for keeping up-to-date will be made available; of course, depending on the clients you use, leaflet/standard.site publications (what powers this blog) may well be integrated already - like in Heron, for instance⁴.

I'm taking a mini break from streaming atm as I've just moved back to my Mum's, but once I have a proper setup (either here or on my own once I've found full-time work), then I'll be back to it as normal across YouTube, Twitch and even stream.place. I'm currently working on an on-screen multi-chat - I may do a post on that at some point.

Be prepared for posts about each of these over time - I yap a lot but my neurodivergency is always focused on my faves more than anything else. Look forward to them coming up/you've been warned.

No but for real, I can yap until the cows come home. They're out on the lash right now so we have a bit of time before then but just you watch, I'll still be yapping and they'll not just be home, but tucked up all snug in bed, hot chocolate in hoof and dozing off watching something on the TV.

If you don't understand what this means, I'm talking about atproto, aka what powers this blog, bluesky, tangled.org, etc. I'll definitely be doing a kinda beginner's guide on it at some point, as I've been a lurker in the community and am very interested in this space and its future, and think the open-social space is stronger than ever. More on that another time, though.
